i dislike rhetoric from some feminists focusing negatively on surface level traits/styles of femme as if using them means fully accepting patriarchy. really, yes, there is history to stuff like high heels but theres no rule in physics that says a princess dress is for weak people and a magicians robe is for a strong wise one. it seems like suggesting that everyone strive for a less gendered/neutral style just ends up with pushing everyone to a more stereotypically masculine middle which isnt really a middle at all and is not as realistic as acknowledging ever branching expression and fashion and focusing on rewriting the narratives they represent.
