i dont like starting the week with bad news but Im afraid I am going to have to: Revised Bus Schedules Bad news for Cropwell Bishop We have been advised by the County Council that despite 2 years of ‘Titan’ consultation and issuing of encouraging network plans showing links from Cropwell to Cotgrave, Morrisons and Bingham, the final scheme will have just one daytime bus serving Cropwell Bishop. The 53 (Cotgrave – Cropwell – Bingham) was withdrawn last year and now the County have decided to stop the daytime 22 from August 4th. There will be a couple of morning and evening runs to and from the Vale but otherwise the 22 will only run between Nottingham and Cotgrave – No help to us. The Rushcliffe Greens (previous Radcliffe Line) will continue as the only regular daytime bus serving Cropwell Bishop. It will run on into the Vale serving Langar, Barnstone, Granby, Sutton and continue on to Orston, Whatton, Aslockton and eventually reaching Bingham and then proceed to Nottingham as a ‘Greens’ service. As it runs in both directions, many smaller Vale villages will have the benefit of 2 buses per hour to Nottingham whereas we have only one! Detailed timetables for the revised routes should be available by 21st July. The Parish Council will be writing to the County to object to these changes requesting the reinstatement of the 22 service with links to Cotgrave, Morrisons and Bingham. Please let the Parish Clerk, Jan Towndrow (email: [email protected]), know of any comments and concerns you may have. Cllr John Greenwood, 5 July 2014
