i had a max out day on deadlifts just before christmas. unfortunately, the gym in my hometown has some terrible bars with barely any knurling (it got soft from overuse) and it made things a lot harder than they should have been. trying to hold on even pulled me out of position and i did the rep with more back rounding than ever before. still, my second time ever deadlifting at or above 200kgs. my rep PR is 185kg x 5 so you can understand my frustration with only getting 202.5kg here. nothing crazy yet, but at least im moving forward. i often make the mistake of comparing myself to elite lifters and not being happy with my own progress. still, i look forward to trying again soon and getting close to or joining the 5 plate club.
