I always say that I have no luck. My mother always says I have ass - TopicsExpress

I always say that I have no luck. My mother always says I have ass backwards luck...guess this proves her right.... I had my appointment with the neurosurgeon today. He looked at my mri, and I evidently have the perfect tumor for surgery. Because of where it is located, the odds of me being cured, without further damage to my pituitary gland or being stuck on hormone replacement meds for the rest of my life are 90%. The surgeon has every confidence that the surgery should should be successful. I need to be off of my tumor meds for 6 weeks prior to the surgery, so I will probably have it done in november. Hopkins has amazing technology to remove these tumors, and I am more that thankful to have them in my back yard. After surgery, I will spend have to spend one night in ICU, because they have to monitor for spinal fluid leaks. After that, I will spend one night in a regular room, and go home the following day. Estimated 2-3 weeks recovery. They will remove the tumor through my nose. Walking into the hospital today, I had no idea what to expect, and walking out I felt like I will have a new lease on life. A major part of me would like to erase the last 3 years. Apathy, depression, memory loss, brain fog, weight gain, body swelling, carpal tunnel, destructive behavior, aggression, hair loss, joint pain, and more all caused by this tiny little devil growing inside of my head. I am more than ready for its execution. This has, by far, been the hardest experience of my life, and honestly, I am one of the fortunate ones that hasnt had debilitating headaches. So, today, I feel lucky. Looking forward to feeling like myself again, and regaining control of so many aspects of my life. Thanks for all of your messages and prayers.
