i love the way that everyone thinks that the clerics are actually in power in Iran. The clerics are a symbol, much like the pope is to christians. They dont want a huge civil war on their hands any more than anyone else in the civil world (yes, i am calling Iran civilized) and they know that they would eventually lose a war like that (Assads not coming out of the one in Syria in power) since the western world would make iran a giant crater because of the "nuclear threat". The old president was voted out, a new one came in, because in a civilized country you do what the population tells you. They want nuclear clearance from the UN, and diplomacy and working together with other nations are the only way to achieve that goal. So why not let the new guy get his chance. Were better off working as one.
