i pay taxes like most americans. i dont agree with how all the money is spent. that doesnt mean i think i should get an exemption from paying taxes. it means i vote. i work for change. i have heard/read some comments that if someone does not agree with the exemption awarded today they should not work at hobby lobby (and by the way - this impacts a whole lot more companies than just that one). what if it wasnt about contraceptives, but instead, antidepressants, anesthesia, or for that matter, medical intervention of any kind was on (or off) the table? there are many religions that do not support certain types of medical intervention and some that do not support it at all. does that mean that were i looking for a job (and i am not) but if i were, i would have to ask to see detailed information on medical benefits before making a decision - or even worse - demand to be told about the religious beliefs of the owners of the company and to make judgments about what that might mean? if a person agrees with this decision today because it was about contraceptives and/or because they think owners should be able to make decisions about how their money is spent - i beg you to try and see the bigger picture - just how far reaching this can be. just because it doesnt impact you today - doesnt mean it wont tomorrow.
