There are many acting teachers and coaches out there who will tell you their method is the best. Wrong. Different methods for different actors. I personally have read about 350 books on acting and have studied with teachers from every type of acting, and as an actor, its up to YOU to come up with your very own personal method, as you are using YOU in everything you play, even though you may not be playing a character even closely resembling you in looks, or character. You also use your imagination, as acting is an INTERPRETIVE art, and of course be organic and natural, at the same time aiming to be different and fascinating. Be real, and in the moment, and let your instincts guide you. I love acting with a passion, as well as writing and directing, and am currently filming two features, and also doing my very own web series that I wrote, and am am starring in and also directing. Do your own thing, and dont wait for permission to act!! Do a short film, an indie film, a major Hollywood film, a good play, readings with fellow actors, start your own theater company, and go after your dreams with passion, hard work, and patience.Go to YouTube, and watch interviews with your favorite actors. Read what casting directors have to say. Study a particular agent or manager you might want to be working with as a team. Take from teachers and books what you can use and discard the rest. Always be in the moment in a film or play, and understand your character and what his/her objective is. And make sure your choice is very individualistic and justifiable!!! Most of all, go for your dreams and let know absolutey no- one get in your way. This is the career you have chosen, so respect it, appreciate the opportunities given, and never stop punching!!
