in 2009 I was involved in a hit and run thankfully I was driving a pickup and was alone.the plate from the other vehicle fell off at the scene when police tracked down the owner he claimed he wasent driving.he said he would leave the keys under the seat so anyone who wanted to could drive it. 4 years in court when I want information how the case is going I have to call the ada . and i have been told the defendant can get as many new dates as he wants .our system sucks and people who do this should know that if you leave the scene its gonnna be worse then getting caught without a license or dwi .right now they get a slap on the wrist .( BTW the owners name is PAUL HERRICK from Patchogue)
