innocence?.boldness?.courage?. or what in london we might have called pure front.or blag.i blagged my way into peoples consciousness. i had help along the way.some amazing friends who put me up when i had nowhere to stay and no money.i would go to jams and borrow peoples guitars to play and end up scratching it and bust their strings because of the way i played.but they were cool. i would clear the stage refuse to be accompanied by others. insist on playing solomand the space.but it also hid my ignorance of the basic rudiments of music. but they were cool. when it was seen and heard.all by itself it made perfect sense.prodigal funk.nobody knows where its come from.it changes and grooves according to its own internal logic. John Coltrane.a love supreme. on the last movement Psalm you can actually speak the poem he wrote in the liner notes along with his saxophone. this morning i also want to give thanx and praise to whom all praise is due and to all those amazing people who helped me to see the prodigal funk through.
