Twenty-nine national and international institutions, involved in this investigation concluded that expectations in the rule of law, a just trial or justice have no validity in these courts and that these courts were constructed with the explicit purpose to construct a quasi-legitimate framework for breaking the law. In one of the six Show Trials - Sledgehammer (known as Balyoz) and Ergenekon - 256 retired and active duty military officers, including 57 Generals and 35 Admirals, received long sentences ranging 13 years to life imprisonment. Their convictions also included the removal of their ranks, medals and other awards and put a huge undue burden on their families and loved ones. On behalf of all the accused members of these Show Trials, we appeal to the Judiciaries in Turkey to reverse all judgements against them securing their release to freedom and unite with their families collegues,and most importantly, to their honored duties, to continue to serve the Turkish Nation with dedication and conviction. We also request the immediate release of Prof. Dr.Fatih HİLMİOĞLU, Retired Generals Rıfkı DURUSOY and Levent ERSÖZ, Retired Admiral Retired Colenels Muzaffer TEKİN and Mehmet YOLERİ, Veteran Serdar ÖZTÜRK, Kemal Alemdaroğlu, Yalcin Kucuk, who are gravely ill during their long time imprisonment and have been deprived of proper health care. We invite all Turkish Judiciaries, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations to assure that justice is served.
