its way too soon to have to endure another heartbreak but if i must, i must. when i came home a little while ago, i opened the door and almost started yelling. the dogfood bowl looks like it had been kicked, theres poop in the corner. i walk in to the kitchen and theres poop ALL OVER the place. i go further in to the kitchen and see him. its ashe. hes in the corner writhing and kicking, struggling to get up but cant.hes in convulsions. first im fearing a heart attack...no, then i realize...HES HAVING A STROKE!!!!holding his limp head in my arms, i notice the tongue hanging to the side. (one of several sympyoms i recognized from a post i saw on FB.) he managed to get up and is wandering around in circles in the back yard. i have tearfully already dug a large hole for him (i know there wont be any recovery from this) he doesnt seem to be in any pain for now but if i had the money, i would take him to the vets to be pts Ashe is the last addition to our home. a friend called me and said someone dumped another dog on his street here in lacombe. a large grey and black catahoula. VERY friendly. he wanted to keep him but his three dogs werent having any part of it. so, he called me. i already have ten here and i could not have assembled a better crew that can make a strange dog feel welcome and unafraid. i had him neutered a few weeks ago/ got his rabies shot and i was planning on bringing the old boy (about 10yrs old) up to petsmart this weekend to show at our adoptathon. ashe is a perfect specimen of a catahoulah and its a shame no one will get to love this dog the way i got to.
