just received this email from GITC - how is this helping small business Darren Grimwade MP - charging $396 a year just to be able to provide services to the government - something I have been doing for 16 years. Dear Supplier Our records show that your Government Information Technology & Contracting Framework (GITC) accreditation is overdue for review, which you are likely to already be aware of. The Queensland Government has recently partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) to implement an online ICT industry accreditation process, known as QAssure. QAssure allows ICT suppliers wishing to engage with customers like the Queensland Government to have a transparent expression of capabilities, and verification of their company details on the QAssure website. The QAssure process will be performed by CCIQ, an independent not-for-profit organisation with many small and medium-sized business members. CCIQ has put in place an online application process that is simple and efficient. Additionally, the new QAssure website will display company details of ICT suppliers who are acceptable to enter into a contract with customers such as the Queensland Government. This will also allow government, industry and the public to search for company, category and specialty details about ICT suppliers in Queensland. The QAssure number will be a pre-requisite to the Queensland Government’s GITC accreditation process, and will greatly simplify the GITC accreditation process. CCIQ will contact you shortly to provide information about how to apply for a QAssure number. QAssure will become the one-stop accreditation services for ICT suppliers wanting to sell to the Queensland Government and will provide your business with benefits including: • a seal of approval and mark of quality for your business • an independent accreditation managed by Queensland’s peak industry body • promotion of QAssured suppliers to small businesses and consumers throughout Queensland via CCIQ’s marketing and communications programs • a detailed listing for your business within qassure.au outlining your services and linking to your website (no confidential information such as financials will be listed). To become accredited with QAssure, there is a simple application process, supported by a dedicated helpdesk service, with an annual accreditation fee of $396 inc. GST. Your QAssure accreditation will remain valid for 12 months. Should you not obtain a CCIQ QAssure number within a six month period of notification by CCIQ, your GITC accreditation will be cancelled. Once you have acquired your QAssure number, please email [email protected] and provide: • Your Trading Name • Your GITC Number • Your QAssure Number We value our partners and suppliers and we look forward to continuing to work with you in the future. For further information please visit qld.gov.au/gitcaccreditation or qassure.au. Yours faithfully GITC Services
