Mayweather and Pacquiao Agree To Fight BY SPORTSBREAK AP Photo/John Locher In a fight that has been years in the making, it seems like the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will finally face off against each other in the boxing ring. A Yahoo! Sports report claims that the two sides have agreed to a May 2, 2015 fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be the richest fight in boxing history, with the fight purse rumoured to be split 60/40 in favour of Mayweather. Yahoo! reports that Mayweather alone could make upwards of $120 million for the fight, which will meant that ticket prices would be jacked up to an all-time high – with the top tickets going for $5,000 each. Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum, who is also the CEO of Top Rank Boxing, reportedly confirmed the agreement was in place, and that the only thing still pending is for Mayweather to sign off on the details. Fight fans have been clamouring for this fight since 2009, when it became obvious that the two were the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet. Since then, any effort to put the fight together was usually shot down by one side or the other, often over issues such as money or drug testing. Pacquiao is currently 36-years old with a record of 57-5-2, and the 37-year old Mayweather is a perfect 47-0.
