just wanted to post a link to two youtube channels that i watch religiously. one is jameskalm and the other is jameskalmroughcuts. what he does is he goes to a buttload of art show openings in New York City and sometimes other places if they have important retrospectives. he doesnt offer too many opinions. he just shows the art and will try to talk to the gallerist, artist, patrons and the hobnobbers at the show(they are the only drawback imo). he is a living encyclopedia of art knowledge and its history. the guy knows his stuff and hes so humble about it. the reason i think this is an important two sites for us is because im pretty sure there arent that many of us who can be in new york city for all the shows he can take us to. we get to see up to date art, and i mean really up to date, like the next day up to date. so we are in the know pretty much. as far as new york goes anyway. for me, one of the reasons i like them is because i can see if im doing work that is unique. i dont want to do work thats been burned out for 50 yrs, or that someone else is doing. grant it, there are still a ton of artist doing burnt out work im, just my opinion though. but if you watch the videos youll find some crap shows of course, but mostly youll find many many great shows and artists who are our contemporaries and who are putting out some really incredible work, like Lisa Yuskavage. shes friggin awesome painter. and many other contemporaries who we need to know and see. so heres the links.:::https://youtube/user/jameskalm
