kary and i got back friday after spending time in the mackinaw area with three marvelous grandkids; chelsea, alex, and eli....one day in the UP at tahquamenon, oswalds bear ranch and whitefish point, one day on mackinac island with a carriage ride, a tour of the fort (alex got to help the soldiers with the canon firing), lots of walking and fudge, of course. the kids spent much time in the hotel pool or across the street at the water park. even the travel time was good...didnt even have to drop them off at a rest area and call their parents to come pick them up. :-)
