my dad would have been 86 today. its not unlike any other day because i miss him and think about him every day i adored him, he was my best friend,my one to turn to if i skint my knees or elbows my dad would make better(my mum didnt do blood and snott)in later in years he was my rock. oh dont think we didnt have our ding dongs at times but thats life. he was a serving police officer for 30yrs most of it in the traffic division witch he loved. he was awarded the queens silver jubilee medal for services in the line of duty. his other passion was (the bowls) and he served as an umpire at the comenwealth games edinburgh 1986 and was president of carluke bowling club twice. he was a true gentleman (not many left).and had a wonderful sence of humour. some of his stories and the way he told them im sure people will remember. as for speeking in public, fantastic, just ask anyone who was at any of my weddings lol. he said to me on the morning of my wedding to stewart "i gave you away in 1980 now im giving you away 1990 dont be makeing this a f.....g ten yearly thing. the dark isle always love you.fiona xx
