ok, I am digging the footer for the greenhouse and the ponds for the Talapia. I have chosen to do this by hand so to appreciate the various organisms in soil and the types of soil. We have a rich soil that extend 8 - 12 from the ground being covered with pine straw for many years and under that is good old Georgia Red Clay. I have extracted the top layer and I am transporting it by wheel barrel to the raised beds and compose beds. The clay is being used to level the foundation of the greenhouse and to make adobe bricks for construction of our forge and furnace. We will build the adobe building and then cook it from the inside for five days with our trash and the brush cleared from other projects in order to harden the brick. I am thinking of how to make the roof out of adobe so it will stay in place once cooked and make our forge and Kiln work areas fire proof. Any suggestions?
