ok, so its Labour Weekend, our accommodation has been booked for weeks. Just now we had two separate vehicles turn up (yes after 9:00pm!) ... 3 kiwis in their 50s looking for accommodation - self contained with all the works. Shitty because everything is booked up and they have no where to stay - demanding to know where the duty motel is. Then a family of mum dad and 4 LITTLE kids looking for accommodation. The kids are just about climbing the wall probably because they are tired and havent had a feed and Mum is looking pretty stressed! (no surprises). I feel bad we have to turn them away .. but seriously ... who turns up to a place they dont know on a long holiday weekend without ringing ahead or booking somewhere. Tried to make a few phone calls but everything is booked out or not answering.
