okay so as i see the post was deleted, delete if not allowed please admin, lommy 16.2hh 16yo tb gelding, mid last year i enquired about a tb gelding for a general riding horse, i was promised a safe fun gelding, i was happy with bry and how the gelding sounded, i was told he was slightly underweight, my grandad drove me to normanby to view and test ride who was back then known as buddy, i arrived and we met bry she was happy and friendly, upon arrival to the paddock, first thing i noticed is that the horses boned back the paddock like what a pig wood, no grass and alot of mud, second thing i noticed is that his weight i wouldnt describe as being slightly underweight, it took to my acknowledgement that he had total muscle wastage around topline, neck, and hindquaters, i could run my fingers between each rib like a toast rack, his spine was somewhat showing but not as bad as couldve been, on my behalf i shouldnt of rode him that day, but i did we walked and he was lazy and calm i liked his ploddiness, another thing i noticed is his hooves were cracked and flared out ,atleast 6 months of unnateneded growth, but through all og this lommy was also cuddly and i thought i could bring his old soul back, i paid $250 where as bry originally posted him up for $400, i went home had a think and i thought about it he wasnt gonna be cheap but i didnt want to leave him, im currently tracing back pictures now about the day i went to brys, bry brought lommy down to the grazing i was paying $30pw from doug rosewarne , 12 acres of dairy land, lommy was there for a month before rey wheeldon floated him to wanganui for reschooling as lommy threw me through afence and chased dougs cattle down, rey unloaded him and he was turned out a further 3 days before rey started to get me on him, he jig jogged and down little pig roots and rears, i never once hit lommy only ever scoulded with my voice, bry says she offered to come get him, ive uploaded a pic saying drop him off by saturday, and her telling me to DT him, i never inteneded to DT lommy ever, ive uploaded pics of him in our care, rey discovered 2x golf ball sixed lumps in his throat i refered to my vet at vets on somme parade wanganui and peter believed they were highly cancerous and highly doubt they werent from racing, still waiting for him to do my report up,his manure was black so we drenched him and after we done so was confronted by the horrible sight of tapeworm hanging from his rectum, rey done his feet and as i started to realise after $900 of reciepts i was above myself on being able to afford his upkeep from there, i tried to rehome him and ended up leasing him to james haitana he found a small handfull of rocks inbeded in his hooves which couldnt of grown over in the 9weeks of my care,it was a longterm problem, a chiro also told me about that he had a possible hip blockage in his back right, was also confirmed by bry that in his past in his back right leg he had had a showjumping incident, i was never told this until about 7weeks of my care, lommy left under the care of leasee owners but i take full responsibility of lommys departure, me and my mom signed a contract to say lommy was to go to a rehab facility or to be rehomed but instead was left under my care for a futher four days in a backyard with no water, i continued to hard feed and water through all of this he was rugged every night and then loaded up by hayley summers of the wanganui spca now known as RSPCA and taken to slaughter as of same day, his active spca file told me he was at a rescue it took weeks to make myself believe he was gone but in all of this no one apart from lommy was the victim here, no headackes now for the big boy, rest in peice my lommins , any questions or if anyone is wanting to let off steam over this, email me at : shannonstanaway@yahoo or txt or call on :0223095709 or just pm me, all photos uploaded in my care, still trying to trace some of when he arrived wont be long first photo: all waiting to be drenched second photo: waiting for his feed third photo:after 3 weeks of my care had gained a fair amount fourth photo: one of his days were he wouldnt eat his food, graze and wasnt interested in any human activity what so ever, vet was called didnt find a problem physically fifth photo: new paddock sixth photo: road riding having a graze last photo: grazing more to come to be posted in comments .
