one last piece of honesty for today....... now to these guys ages 12-16 with cards who are soliciting funds.....no no no and to parents and organizations who encourage them...no no no...i often say....to the guys......wait you too big to be carrying that card for sponsorship...my yard want cleaning..e and do some cleaning and you can fill that card....... once i saw the pathfinders at big b and they so impressed me by singing for their money to put on cards.......i said if a clown school if ever gave my daughter a card....we are going to pratice a few things and every body i ask on her behalf..she has to sing , dance or recite something that is age appropiate.......for the money. one i saw a guy at jbs who was collecting money using a card...when i enquired quietly about the signature and stamp on card and things that a card should have...you know he was collecting money for the welfare of his children......... Here is an idea for ages 12-16 who are travelling for foot ball teams..send out letters in the districts that you go to school or work or church in..ask persons to indicate who wants cars washed, their yards cleaned, someone to come a saturday morning and sit in gallery with them and read the bible, walk an old lady or an old man to supermarket....please do work for your money........ it is just not cool to be walking around with a card or being over the bridge in bridgetown....if you can sing sing a song, if you can dance ...dance...get together as a group and move and do cleaning in the district with your supervisor or youth leader.....do not just stand and beg.... and you know that they have not thought it through....her is how....when you say "no" to them...some of them ...just go quiet...they have no comeback..they were never told that they can offer to do a skill or talent to fill the card...and so they just have to walk away... teenagers can do age apppropiate work and parents, leaders, preachers, coaches must look at values that come from just people donating money to a card.....use the card and other things ...not just the cards....for me i call it glorified begging...booommmmmmmm
