plan for tomorrow, is to drive north to Kaipara Flats, because weekends are tricky during Spring and Summer, when you get close to town or a beach the traffic is crazy! crazier than me lol I have only been there once as a passenger in the past 2/3 years ive been here. Its really quiet and there are no shops, i want to do a loop to the backroads of whatever that rd is called behind our house and become familiar with the street names etc. I have a full tank of gas so it should be fine. everyone will be driving in the opposite direction. I dont need to dress up which is nice. i think i may really feel good driving those gravel roads past the farms and little abandoned homes. its where i feel like being tomorrow. off the grid. if there was somewhere i could pull over and read my book id be happy! then Sunday the plan is to see my house in Titirangi with Mum. Im trying to contain my excitement because the floors may be done, then its just the skirting boards, sanding and oiling, concrete sink with counter and bathrooms with built ready vanities to speed it up and cut costs. oh damn there are the living windows too. Im hoping this will be done in 6 weeks. renovations got out of control…its hard to say if it was entirely my wish but i guess it was. funny. i started out just wanting to replace accessible windows/doors with steel secure joinery but that hasnt happened. everything else happened. so now im quite at peace with aluminium. if someone breaks in ill just roll out the red carpet and serve them cocoa. im over it.
