prAna ambassador Chadd Konig recently visited the town of Sulangan, one of the hardest hit areas in South Samar, with Surf For Life (surfforlife.org), a non-profit that sponsors educational and community-driven development projects in coastal communities. The charge was to help rebuild two new schools in Sulangan. What happened was much bigger than that: I felt as though the intention of this trip was more to be present with the community rather than to help. Yes, we are offering to help in the rebuilding of essential structures within the town of Sulangan, but as we know, these structures are very impermanent.
