proton_parts_300PETALING JAYA: Owners of Proton cars affected by floods in Kelantan and Terengganu will not have to pay for labour costs while enjoying an added 30 per cent off replacement parts. Proton Holdings Berhad which had earlier offered a 20 per cent discount on repair works to cars affected by the floods decided to increase their discounts after monitoring the worsening conditions in the East Coast states, reported the Malay Mail Online. Proton’s CEO, Abdul Harith Abdullah noted that it was quite costly to repair vehicles damaged by floods as he said they were “usually severely coated with sludge.” He hoped that the substantial discounts would help ease the burden of the flood victims, especially owners of cars whose insurance did not cover natural disasters. The cars will also enjoy free evaluation of damages, inspection service and towing assistance from the affected location to the selected Proton service centres, as part of Proton’s We-Care Prihatin Banjir programme.
