sabella Hope OHara was born March 30, 2011 with Spina Bifida in the L4-L5 region and severe hydrocephalus. It was a planned c-section and as soon as she was born, she was wrapped up and taken right away to Childrens Hospital. At 1 day old, she had her lesion repair surgery and temporary shunt, and at a week old she had her permanent VP shunt placed. From the very first days in the NICU, every hospital stay, or surgery, the Spina Bifida Coalition of Cincinnati has always been there sending balloons, meal cards, and their support, which we are so grateful for. This group has also given us connections with other families whom we can turn to for advice, prayers, and support. Bella faces many challenges on a daily basis, but she smiles through it all. We feel very blessed God chose us to be Bellas parents and she also has the best big brother who loves her, plays with her, and teaches her things every day. We couldnt imagine our life without her and she is definitely Our Every Day Hero! We are so excited for the Walk n Roll, which is our favorite event to attend! We love having to opportunity to walk and visit with the other Spina Bifida families. Bella has many prayer warriors that we hope can join us this year for the event in their Team Bella shirts and walk with Bella to raise awareness for Spina Bifida.
