so last night i was out at a coffee place and a couple sat down at the table next to mine. i honestly was trying my hardest to mind my own business and focus on my philo and my discernment mind map. but yea, i overheard their whole conversation. every word :/ sometimes eavesdropping on other peoples stories give me insights and lessons on experiences i dont necessarily have to go through firsthand. actually the main reason why they were interesting was because theyre in their late 40s or 50s, one lawyer one social worker, one asian one angmoh, and it was their first time meeting after joining a matchmaking site. they were sharing their experiences with online scammers and matches with high/weird expectations, and having an open mind about joining the site. one was giving very practical advice about avoiding those with bad profiles and going with the ones whove exceeded the 6-month free trial and are paying for membership. still amused. i guess besides that, the main thing i took away, or am still pondering, is, what are people looking for; what do they want in life; will they ever find it? after success in their careers, after kids, after marriages and divorces, then what? what am i looking for. what do i want in life. not tt Im deriding them (if they were looking for a good date, yday wasnt too disappointing), but im hoping i dont take 30 years to find out.
