so this what MC Whizzkid had about my my semi final mix against Ben Manic Hulland DJ BEN MANIC. I have to say, I really enjoyed this mix, partly as there was a few GOOD tracks that I didn’t recognise. I felt his selection was well thought out & had a distinct “style” about him. Mixing was smooth & it all blended along nicely. If I had to point out negatives, I’d say some of the tracks sounded a little old in terms of production & the mixes were a bit “safe”. Not to say I didn’t enjoy it though. DJ REFLUX Again, what I found interesting about these guys was both had found their identity. In REFLUX’s case, he had that banging techy thing going on. I could imagine him doing well up north, as some of the raves I perform at suit this style. If I’m honest some of the tracks weren’t to my taste, but that’s just a personal thing. Mixing skills were good & his chops were sharp& precise! Good stuff. Tough call on this one, so I kinda have to go on what I personally could listen to in my car… In this case my winner is DJ BEN MANIC. ( but well played Reflux, he just pipped ya. ) At this point wanna say how impressed I was with all four contestants. Proof that the future is bright, & I look forward to spitting on all four sets at some point… As if you four keep working, I’m sure I’ll be seeing you on the circuit! Respect.
