something I just seen posted on a friends time line... What is the matter with people , we received a note from the St,Williams Conservation Reserve Community Council they are planning a Prescribed burn in Turkey point . they say this is done to restore the Oak Savanna ecosystem ,, Are they out of their mind ,, The birds are nesting, in the trees and there are the wild Turkeys the rabbits , racoons and I am sure a lot of other animals having young ones , What are these animals going to do when they get smoked out or their nest is burnt with young ones in it? Am I the only one that think this is not thought out ? Turkey point is not looking the same since they have been logging in there , it is a mess to say the least . Cant they wait until at least the fall , when there are no young animals around and at least the ones that are hiding in the trees have a chance to get out ? there is a number, you can call for the coordinator of this madness 519 410 2620 If you agree with me please let them know and pass this on. thanks Has anyone else heard of a planned Burn coming up in Turkey Point? Or received a letter? Just curious. Because I would have to agree now is not the time to be having planned burns in wooded Areas .
