#stlwx #mowx #ilwx #stlwx Potentially record breaking weather for the STL area the middle of this upcoming week! Bitterly cold temperatures are expected to move into the region Tuesday night into Thursday. Overnight low temperatures with this air mass may very well drop below zero. While record low temperatures do not appear likely due to a lack of snow cover... this air mass may produce record HIGH PRESSURE for the St. Louis area. The record highest barometric pressure ever recorded in St. Louis in January is 30.99 (1049.44 mb) set in 1924. Currently, many of the forecast models are forecasting surface pressures to reach 1050mb+ in St. Louis or 31.04 late Wednesday night into Thursday morning...which is the most likely period for sub zero temperatures as well. Even without snow on the ground thats incredible and will result in dangerously cold surface temperatures for a couple of nights.
