..the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 Creation started with the words Let there be…, and everything came to be as the Lord envisioned. In fact, every single day of creation was started with Let there be… including the sixth day. But on that last day, the Lord did something different and He said something different. While pondering on His greatest creation, in Genesis 1:26, God said, Let us make… He decided that man was going to be special so He didnt just say He wanted to make man, He used His hands to form him from the dust of the ground. He formed him, then breathe on him for man to have life. After creating many things that pleased Him, God said that it was good. He said it several times which indicate how pleased He was with His creation. But on the sixth day, He was deeply satisfied especially after making man. And so instead of saying that creation was good on that last day, He saw it and said that it was very good. This is how special God sees us. Man was not only specially created, but man brings pleasure to the Lord simply by being. In Psalm 139:13-16, David gives us a glimpse as to how God creates us in the womb. By using the New Living Translation of this passage, we get a clearer picture of what He does specifically. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. We are told that we werent randomly created but were carefully knit together and formed by God during the months when we were in our mothers womb. More than that, He already had a vision for how we would look and how our lives were to be before He started making us! Thats why every single one of us was created with Gods special care and attention because He knew us before He even made us. Now that we know this, what should be our response? What do we do with this amazing knowledge of Gods special love and care for our creation? Genesis 2 gives us an idea. The moment God finished creation, He was referred to exclusively as the Lord God. By being the creator of everything, He had the right to be called Lord by everything He made. And if He is rightfully Lord of all, then He should be Lord of your life. Is your life surrendered to the Lord? Surrendering to your Creator doesnt mean giving up being you. It means becoming who you really are. He is intimately aware of you and He wants to be part of your life. He wants to be your life. Call Him Lord and you will be everything you were meant to be in His eyes.
