there is somethings that never cease to amaze me ...in the area of personality and human nature....esp of our Irish culture......cant discuss why my post is up about this sensitive subject......as Im sure we have all had experiences with others....and I could write a book.....but God almighty....have we Irish not evolved in the last 40 years......families fall out over land and houses left in wills....over religion....over outlooks and beliefs......over not accepting th relationships of siblings....oh the big one...the child born out of wedlock.....their may never be another family member in that same family to carry on the name but its a mortal sin..!! One I tell ye I am guilty of.......but hey it wasnt written in the commandments so I escape on that loop hole....there was no ..thou shalt not bear childe without marraige..........! we we encouraged to increase and mulitply..!! ..and birth control was a nother mortal sin..well...I hold my hand up to say that I was blessed the day I saw my curly haired lovely in the crib beside me.....but my point is...dynamics in some households still harbour the ..Im right youre wrong attitude esp between men folk..and in some families its more important ..still...what the neighbours might say....and not consider the rights of their own.....my mum a born Dubliner to the backbone....and spent thirty years of her life in a rural community said it best when she described the small villages and the parochial thinking of its inhabitants ...as valleys of squinting windows..phew! outburst of the day...!
