these are a wild bunch.... bringing back the Art of the HOBO- which has been in decline since the depression..... beautiful shots of course but dont let em fool ya.... Had a run in with hobo-types several years back.... Was at a truck stop somewhere between Savannah Georgia and Jacksonville Florida.... pretty close to some Union pacific or CSX rails....might have been a station somewhere close....im not sure We were approached by a group of young hobos....5 of them (4 guys 1 girl)....couldnt have been older than 22 or 25 one asked me for a smoke.... After handing one of them a cigarette....one of his companions decided he wanted more from us ... So He pulled out a box-cutter and demanded our belongings....and we werent about to do that... #1. Rule in a knife fight- EXPECT to get cut #2. Cover up as much exposed flesh (usually your hands and arms) with a shirt or jacket- these usually get cut first.... #3. Take your belt off....Use it to parry.....BUCKLE end out. #4. Use anything to got to put in between that blade and you... One of my boys knocked him upside the head with his belt while i knocked that cutter out of his hands using my book bag.... whole thing was over in 2 minutes as our other friends came running .... Once that happened.... the young Hobos ran and took off for the tracks.... It had been a close one....they seemed hungry and tired and werent up for a fight.... we were VERY lucky....
