this is good news as I always believe tourism is the key to finding our lost wealth. and if Department of Tourism wont mind, may i add more items to their product portfolios to be allocated w budget and so to help ordinary folks develop their own tourism potentials: 1) bed n breakfast operators to be accredited by DOT not just in manila but all over 7107 islands in the archipelago (the same way switzerland gov help their small tourism operators) 2) logistics/financial support to those who are interested, esp those small/med scale operators who at least have small assets (lands for tourism purposes etc) to fully develop these areas into alternative but standardized hotels 3) many others il reserve for my letter to dot secretary in these programs, DOT may adopt the DOE (dept of energy) program of giving loans to energy related projects where property or assets is sufficient collateral and w/o any cash equity from project proponents--so long as the proposed project is viable. Upto P10m loans is provided by DOE to anyone interested in such projects, wc is still ongoing now. so why not DOT? Its no longer a secret that as mc as P10bn of public monies hv been pocketed by some gov officials in a span of few years, so meaning there is so mc the gov can give, so WHY REALLY NOT this be done?
