this is very exciting for me. I just reserved a ticket for the SPANISH RIDING SCHOOL OF VIENNA for a performance. I have been to the school for a visit 2 or 3 times but I have never seen a performance cause they were closed. I managed to talk my way into the stables to see the horses in their stalls & a brief visit inside the riding rink which with spectacular chandeliers & posh velvet balcony seats all around looks more like a palace than a riding school.... Does anybody remember an early 60s Walt Disney film THE MIRACLE OF THE WHITE STALLIONS with Robert Taylor & Lilli Palmer, filmed in location about the saving of the horses during the WWII and the bombings of Vienna by the allies? This performance along with the memorial service event for Hedy Lamarr in the company of her son will be the highlights of my trip. Leaving tomorrow.. Today a major storm here in Nice and the waves are crashing all over the beach.. lovely to watch and listen too.... Regards
