this is what I added to the BC Liberal page under those disgusting photos of Fassbender reading to the children: Have you had your say? Fassbender is the most manipulative disingenuous person, I have ever seen in my short years. I am disgusted by this article which tries to deflect the truth once again from parents which states that the govt will ignore the courts once more ( a third time) if the ruling goes in the BCTF favour. You have no right to be above the law which at the present time you are! We ARE NOT LIKE any other union! NO other UNION influences the lives of children every single day and provides children with the skills they need to become great citizens of this country! Stop comparing us to other unions...there is no other like ours. If you had half an intelligence you would know that! You admit you have grandchildren in the system..I wouldnt. Id be embarrassed for others to know that their education is not important in your mind. You dont care if there are 10 special needs students in one class with many behaviour problems or that there is no counsellor should there be a tragedy in your family or if your grandchild struggles that unless he/she is in the bottom percentage he/she will not get assistance. How about the fact that your grandchild doesnt even know what a librarian is or if he/she does they are just phantoms that move in once or twice a week? I mean wow! You are so compassionate to your own grandchild. How can we expect you to be more than that for the lives of others. If you have millions to forgive the loans to California for power and millions to build a new roof Id say that the lives of children should be much more worthy and you should have millions for them to. Our salary wage of 7% is less than the cost of living and the BCTF members have gone numerous years without a pay increase in the last number of years so they keep falling behind more and more, doing more with less and less all the time. A teacher that is at the top of the scale here, will make $26000 less per year than a teacher in Manitoba at the end of the next 4 years, whist he/she has a much higher cost of living, has the same number of years experience and the same education. How is that acceptable? If Manitoba can figure it out (along with every other province except PEI) then perhaps you could hire someone from one of those provinces who get it. Or better yet, you could resign and we could find someone that is much more worthy of the position and that is accountable, respectable and honourable.
