this part of the anger in the Veterans heart. not so much for our selves, but for our brothers that didnt get a homecoming like today. when it takes that many years to get to them, then that is why they feel forgotten. then the President (and others) use this to get attention on special days to themselves. why are they not remembered on the rest of the days during the year? no political gain? it took 33 year before I myself was welcomed home and that was from a total stranger and that was because I had my hat on that said Veteran.. I hold no grudge any more because it only hurts more. I have been welcomed by many that I dont know, prayed over by strangers, and hugged by some. no longer called baby killer and other names, nor spit on like before when coming home to a hostile hippy bunch of draft dodgers which some have been president.. what a slap in the face that is. Anyway welcome home brothers and sisters from every war, welcome home. with that happy veterans day to each. just sayin-- >3 pa
