this weekend we are running our monthly competition Wod. i know it sounds scary to do snatches and handstand walking. so i want to share something with you: there is a woman i am coaching in personal training sessions. shes in her 40s and has recently started training, in fact we progressed to doing squats with a 15kg bar just last week, after doing airsquats for strength. most workouts are bodyweight and offer as much difficulty as a barbell would for most other people. she has signed up for the competition. and it was her idea. why? because she realizes, that stepping out of the comfort zone can do 2 amazing things for you. 1) it will make you progress physically and mentally, up until now she wasnt doing any physical activity and now is and is improving very quickly. 2) it can be allot of fun. we train the regular WODs dozens of times a month, but here you have something different, the whole community behind you pushing you to be as good as you can, and break your own boundaries. no one cares if you miss a lift, no one cares if you dont look like froening doing it. all anyone cares about is that you give it your best shot. showing up to try your best already claims you a winner. i hope you all show up, we can scale ANYTHING to your abilities, except for the decision to try.. good luck to all the athletes participating, im already proud of you and know you will do great!
