Distribution On January 6, 2015 General Situation The weak high pressure covers the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. Cool weather remains with fog and isolated thick patches in the morning over the area. All transports should take extra caution in areas of fog 1-2 days. The moderate northeast monsoon remains across the South and the Gulf of Thailand. The waves are likely about 2 meters high in the Gulf from Nakhon Si Thammarat downward. All ships should proceed with caution. During 8-10 Jan, the rather strong high pressure from China will extend to upper Thailand and the westerly trough will move across the North of Thailand. Thunderstorms with gust and isolated hail are expected over upper Thailand especially in the North and the upper Northeast, then cooler weather with 3-5 °C drops. The stronger northeast monsoon will prevail across the Gulf and southern Thailand. More rain is expected in the lower South and the wind waves 2-3 meters high in the lower Gulf from Nakhon Si Thammarat passing south.
