to those who were born my generation and just before: only you can understand how blessed we are to have grown up in an era of some of the greatest music ever . how deep shall i go? compositionally, the greatest . technically, recording wise, the greatest imaginations of minds ever. the sounds they created with the little technology they had . musicians can today out drum, out strum those of yesterday, but none of them could create sounds and put them on vinyl like they did then, using only the technology of then. they just didnt have the devices they needed to create the sounds they envisioned; they had to invent them! my eyes cry when i listen to these tracks. it is a culture lost. only those of my generation would know what they are listening to. not only great compositions, but the creative way they had to engineer the mixes to get the sounds they did....absolutely genius! today it would be brainless work...the push of a keyboard button. the click of a mouse...back then, they had to invent ways to get the sounds they did to make it sound the way it does...what a tragedy to loose this genius and see this music die within a generation. because they didnt know what they were listening to. :(
