triple whammy+ at duplex today... 1.>One bedroom opens into garage. Safety issue (CO issues from automobiles.) Also garage door is hollow... not 20min fire rated and drywall between house and garage not 1 hr fire rated. 2.>All sleeping rooms also require escape & rescue openings to the exterior. One bedroom did not. 3.>Gas water heaters prohibited in bedroom (installed in bedroom closet). This was the babys room! hmmmm, how did this garage add-on get permitted by the City (of Sachse)? DIYer or Mr Handyman strikes again!
