(warning: 2 minute read): My condolences Mr. Facebook, People - TopicsExpress

(warning: 2 minute read): My condolences Mr. Facebook, People ask out loud, whose war is this now? Is it the war of the last puppet who helped orchestrate its beginning? Or is it the property of the newer puppet who also now speaks the language of ‘War, as the only answer to life’s questions’? – And accordingly, the only honorable pursuit there is… The saddest news is that it is our war. Given to us by the crazed orchestra that is still relentlessly screwing the world. ‘They’ wanted the patriot act and the war on terror so they could make money engaging in wars anywhere and anytime.- Cash cows that could be milked in perpetuity. And so they chose Iraq eleven years ago as the destination for that “Shock and Awe” display, which some later admitted, ‘didn’t go according to plan.’ That faux pas also helped to birth ISIS, as it further exposed to the world that the United States was capable and willing to stick its nose in other people’s lives. People interviewed across the world said clearly, ‘we don’t like the acts of their government or their financial imperialists, but we still love the people of the United States…’ Many things have been done in our name: No one asked me nor any of my friends if we should invade Iraq or if we should try to exploit and control the resources and politics of other countries. Did they ask you? What would you have said then? What would you say if they asked now? What the heck do we do now? The fog machines continue to belch anytime the sunlight peeks through. There are so many elephants in the room… Just get back to it, work even harder, I suppose. We cannot conquer the conquerors; but we can press on; pray, work and devote ourselves to the cooperation that has always been possible on this enormous, amazing, tiny little world…. Ideally we could send Obama and Bush and Boehner and Pelosi, Reid and McConnel and of course the Cheney to fight their wars. We could send the children of the Kochs, Halliburton and the API, and the board members of Monsanto, Walmart and Goldman Sachs, etc, etc… “Ah Carp!” “My Country tis of thee, sweet land of hypocrisy…” When President Obama used the word, “dignified”, to describe the recent interventions by the United States, I choked on the air around me. Dignity to me implies integrity, honesty and the courage and responsibility to address the root causes of what we should face together. He never once addressed the need to repair and regenerate the social fabric and the ecological fabric; to re-purpose the US Economy for long-term stability; nor to address the climate destabilization that only we humans can attempt to attenuate. He spoke of war. Yes, ‘we’ have no choice but to try to eradicate this cancerous cell that calls itself, ISIL. But if we ever want things to get better again, we also need to admit that our government and those in pursuit of perpetual profits helped create this cancer. We have to admit that the Economic Paradigms of infinite consumption, inflation and “greed is good” are just plain wrong. It is wrong for us, and it is wrong for the world. “We can Conserve it and Regenerate it.” Leadership must come from individuals and communities. It must come from you and I. Press on. Pray, work, play, and pursue the cooperation that has always been possible on this enormous, amazing, tiny little world…. Truce,
