well since f.b. says i cant post this review on XLR8 DIESEL TRUCKS website ill post it on mine so ALL my friends can see!!! I recently bought a 2005 BULLETPROOFED f350 crew cab dually from them. I drove 3hrs from Va to look at it(it was filthy inside and out). Steve Kent (the shop owner) said he would have it cleaned up before I picked it up so I called the next day and made a deposit then went back later that week with a rental car and cash to drive the truck back home. I picked up the truck (not to much cleaner than its was) drove 30miles & the wrench light came on I took it back 1 of the mechanics looked at it and said a piece of carbon from the freshly cleaned turbo must have went thru and set off the light and it had a bed glow plug. So he replaced that and sent me on my way again. Driving to the same exit the wrench light came on again so…back to shop I went. This time Steve Kent (the shop owner) said the NEW oil cooler was stopped up they had put the bulletproof kit on and flushed the system back into the new oil cooler. After 4hrs of wait Steve Kent(the shop owner) said I as good to go …again…with a truck that would pull a bulldozer. A week later I hooked my 8000# camper to it and it had a “miss” type hesitation in it under a load so I called XLR8 Diesel Trucks and Steve wasn’t in so I talked to 1 of their mechanics he said it sounded like the turbo was sticking (but he cleaned it himself) or an actuator mite be bad… he was going to talk to a more experienced mechanic &get back to me..NEVER heard nothing back so I took it to a local shop and $777 later I get it back.(running twice as good as it did when I drove it off the lot) I call Steve Kent (the shop owner) and told him what happened and asked him to help on the bill. He said I should have brought it back to them (that would have been the 3rd time in LESS than 30days and a 6 hour round trip for me so WHY would I do that) but to fax him a copy of the receipt and he would see what he could do. Its been 2 weeks multiple texts, 3 faxes, and 2 phone calls later and NOTHING!!!! That $777 in motor work is what I had to pay somebody else that’s not including what I have done myself…$125 brakes (wouldn’t pass Va inspection), $25 windshield washer motor, $150 auto climate control, 4 hours cleaning JUST THE INSIDE, the DVD player just broke out of out of the roof while driving down the road, dome lights wont come on when door is opened, and the glove box fills up with water when it rains. They buy there trucks at auction and fix the obvious problems then put them up for sale.(without even detailing them) I would NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM XLR8 DEISEL TRUCKS or letting any of Steve Kents people as much as work on my wheelbarrow!!!
