when you really think about it i guess it comes down to the fact that every person wants to feel unique and special.( i always assumed that was a given. youre already an extremely unique being from conception) those in the majority feel special because they have support even if they have hollow issues and reasons for their actions. On the other hand the counter culture feels they are special because of their battle with societies expectations unknowingly creating a subculture with just as much rigidity as the pop culture. and then there are the other people who say theyre special because they reject both but somehow fit into either(?). dont fear being connected by similarities, the individual can think on a mass scale creatively. it doesnt make you a robot because you want stability and order, doesnt make you a rebel because you want freedom and equality. we all NEED these things, if we could actually put needs before wants in our social process maybe we could go back to being on gods path. living through our environment not above it, and building brotherhood instead of building bombs. if you are a free thinker you leave all avenues open in your mind and allow the answers to reveal themselves. when mud flies it comes from both directions and usually the truth slips out the back. Its best not to draw lines on personal beliefs but rather offer assistance in understanding said beliefs. as a free thinker i used to cringe to hear god mentioned in posts or from others. and i realize now that it was my own issue that blocked me from seeing things for what they are. I was turned off by the messenger before i could receive the message or was so focused on creating my own unique understanding that i forgot the understanding I used to call on. in no way is this a testimony of my beliefs as a call to others, rather a realization that we all are conditioned, its when you break down the walls of perception that you find truth. and however you find your way through life give thanks you have it, show others compassion, be kind and patient, smile and breathe deep. -loko
