Berry held the World Light Heavyweight title on several occasions during a 10 year period between the late 30s and late 40s, trading it with the likes of Danny McShain and Billy Varga. While he would hold many regional titles, it is in California where he was most prominent, mostly in Southern California where he would at one time be a co-holder of the WWA International tag team titles with Tosh Togo, but also in Northern California when some promoters were mostly featuring lighter weight talent. Berry, whose extraordinary verbal skills made him adept at getting underneath the skin of fans, would also make his mark as a manager, and some of his charges included Gorilla Monsoon and the Fabulous Kangaroos. Berry had it all, with tremendous verbal skills and charisma that he used to get himself over as a wrestler and his charges over when he was a manager, the ability to draw both heat and a crowd, and the in-ring skill to come through on the performance end.
