For all of us, our memories of the wonderful days in Baku remain at the forefront of our minds. We are still very much overcome by the experience and would like to offer our thanks to you. We have profoundly enjoyed the last few days in Baku. In the first place, we felt this wonderful, one-of-a-kind hospitality during every second of our stay. The helpfulness of the people who served us as interpreters, drivers and organizers made a strong impression on us. It was great to have the opportunity to meet these men and women. The program was well-timed – the procedures were effective and the balance between conference work and tourism was perfect. And the food…I have never, despite an enduring penchant for international travel, had the pleasure to experience such a culinary diversity. Every meal was a feast. A true paradise for the taste buds. There are many more things I could list, but in the final analysis, all roads lead to you. With your radiance and your emotional warmth, you made the conference a real joy. For that, too, I thank you. Unfortunately, I was not in a position to speak with much sophistication in person about our impression and my great thankfulness. I can assure you, however, that I began for the first time in many years to make daily entries in my journal, I was so filled with impressions. In any case, I thank you personally and in the name of my students, who simply did not want to leave at the end of our stay, for everything, and wish you well in your worthy endeavors to create a more ecological Azerbaijan.
