קול קורא לגיליון מיוחד טיפול פליאטיבי אינטגרטיבי תאריך אחרון להגשה 30.3.15 Call for papers for a SPECIAL EDITION: “Integrated care for people with palliative care needs” Guest Editors: Dr Jeroen Hasselaar, Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands and Professor Sheila Payne, Lancaster University, United Kingdom This proposal for a special edition of Palliative Medicine aims to address the increasingly important topic of integrated care in the context of palliative and end-of-life care service delivery. Integrated care can be defined as ‘an approach that seeks to improve the quality of care for individual patients, service users and carers by ensuring that services are well coordinated around their needs’. The World Health Organization (WHO) definition of palliative care refers to integration in several ways: integration of psychological and spiritual aspects of patient care; a team approach to address the needs of patients and their families and its applicability early in the course of illness, in conjunction with other therapies. This raises the important question whether and how the paradigm of integrated care can contribute to the theoretical assumptions underlying palliative care and its further practical implementation into practice. Our aim is to publish rigorous empirical original research, reviews, research methodologies or theoretical works. We are seeking interdisciplinary contributions from across health and social care that will appeal to an international audience of clinicians, researchers, managers, educators and policy makers. Potential topics include (but are not limited to) conceptual and practical issues related to integrated care: • A health services perspective for integrated care in patients with a life limiting illness • Implications of integrated care concepts for a palliative care philosophy • Integrated palliative care and multidisciplinary symptom management • Evaluation of integrated palliative care in non-malignant and chronic diseases • Issues of integrated palliative care concepts in relation to public health and public-professional partnerships. • Empirical research into patient and carer experiences of integrated service models • Integrated care for patients with a life limiting disease, concept mapping and terms • Reviews addressing (aspects of) integrated care delivery for patients with a life limiting illness • Effects of integrated care principles on palliative care policy: the personalisation agenda; patient choice; self-management; care networks • A comparative analysis, internationally, of models of integrated care as they relate to palliative and end of life care Authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through Manuscript Central: mc.manuscriptcentral/palliative-medicine. Before submission authors should carefully read the journal’s Author Guidelines uk.sagepub/journals/Journal201823?#tabview=manuscriptSubmission, as papers that do not meet these requirements will not be processed through the system. Deadline for submissions is 30 March 2015. For further information please contact the Editorial Office: [email protected]
