คำคืนนี้ฝากพระธรรม ฮาบากุก 2: 1 ข้าพเจ้าจะยืนเฝ้าดูอยู่ ข้าพเจ้าจะยืนที่หอคอย และมองออกไปเพื่อจะฟังดูว่า พระองค์จะตรัสอะไรแก่ข้าพเจ้า และข้าพเจ้าจะทูลตอบพระองค์เกี่ยวด้วยการร้องทุกข์ของข้าพเจ้าอย่างไร 2 และพระเจ้าตรัสตอบข้าพเจ้าว่า “จงเขียนนิมิตนั้นลงไป จงเขียนไว้บนแผ่นป้ายให้กระจ่าง เพื่อให้คนที่วิ่งอ่านได้คล่อง 3 เพราะว่านิมิตนั้นยังรอเวลาของมันอยู่ มันกำลังรีบไปถึงความสำเร็จ มันไม่มุสา ถ้าดูช้าไป ก็จงคอยสักหน่อย มันจะบังเกิดขึ้นเป็นแน่ คงไม่ล่าช้านัก * 4 ดูเถิด ผู้ที่จิตใจไม่ชอบธรรมก็จะล้ม แต่ว่าคนชอบธรรมจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ด้วยความซื่อสัตย์1 * 5 ยิ่งกว่านั้น ความมั่งคั่งล่อลวงคนประมาท เขาจะไม่รู้จักสงบ ความตะกละของเขากว้างเหมือนอย่างแดนคนตาย อย่างมัจจุราชไม่เคยรู้จักอิ่ม เขากอบโกยประชาชาติทั้งหลายมาเพื่อตัวเขาเอง แล้วรวบรวมชนชาติทั้งหลายเข้ามาเป็นคนของตน” 6 ประชาชาติทั้งสิ้นเหล่านี้จะไม่ยกคำเย้ยหยัน กล่าวต่อเขาหรือ และยกทุพภาษิตกล่าวเยาะเขาว่า “วิบัติแก่ผู้ที่สะสมสิ่งที่มิใช่ของตนไว้ (จะทำอย่างนี้ได้นานเท่าใดนะ) และบรรทุกของที่ยึดเป็นประกันไว้เต็มตัว 7 ลูกหนี้ของเจ้าจะไม่ลุกขึ้นมาในปัจจุบันทันด่วนหรือ และผู้ใดที่กระทำให้เจ้าตัวสั่นจะไม่ตื่นขึ้นหรือ แล้วเจ้าก็จะถูกเขาริบบ้างละ 8 เพราะว่าเจ้าได้ปล้นมาแล้วหลายประชาชาติ ชนชาติทั้งหลายที่เหลืออยู่นั้น จึงจะมาปล้นเจ้า เพราะเจ้าทำให้โลหิตมนุษย์ตกและเพราะการทารุณต่อโลก ต่อบรรดาหัวเมืองและต่อผู้ที่อยู่ในเมืองนั้น 9 วิบัติแก่ผู้ที่ได้กำไรมาสู่เรือนของตนด้วยความชั่ว เพื่อจะวางรังของตัวให้สูงเด่นขึ้น เพื่อมิให้อันตรายเอื้อมถึงได้ 10 ที่จริงเจ้าได้ออกอุบายหาความอับอายมาสู่เรือนของเจ้า โดยกำจัดชนชาติทั้งหลายเป็นอันมากเสีย เจ้าต้องเสียชีวิตของเจ้า 11 เพราะว่าศิลาจะตะโกนออกมาจากผนัง และขื่อก็จะตอบสนองมาจากหมู่ตัวไม้ในเรือน 12 วิบัติแก่ผู้สร้างเมืองด้วยโลหิต และวางรากนครไว้ด้วยความชั่ว 13 ดูเถิด ที่บรรดาชนชาติทำงานก็เพื่อแก่ไฟ และที่ชนชาติทั้งหลายทำจนเหน็ดเหนื่อยก็เพื่อแก่การไร้สาระ มิได้เป็นเช่นนี้เพราะพระเจ้าจอมโยธาดอกหรือ 14 เพราะว่าพิภพจะเต็มไปด้วย ความรู้ในเรื่องพระสิริของพระเจ้า ดังน้ำที่เต็มทะเล * Habakkuk Chapter 2 1 I WILL stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will look forth to see what he will speak with me, and what I shall answer concerning my complaint. อสย. 21:8; 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. อสย. 30:8; 3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hasteth toward the end, and shall not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay. 4 Behold, his soul is puffed up, it is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. 5 Yea, moreover, wine is a treacherous dealer, a haughty man, and that keepeth not at home; who enlargeth his desire as hell, and he is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all peoples. 6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and that ladeth himself with pledges! 7 Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them? 8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the peoples shall spoil thee; because of mens blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein. 9 Woe to him that getteth an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil! 10 Thou hast consulted shame to thy house, by cutting off many peoples, and hast sinned against thy soul. 11 For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. 12 Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity! 13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the peoples labour for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity? 14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
