ೋღ ATHENA ღೋ......Ahhh… Athena – such an appropriate name! A Goddess awaiting her new home! A volunteer writes: “This is what I envision for Athena: a warm bed in which to curl up, a bowl thats always full of her favorite food, a hand to always pet her, easy walks, and lots of love. Athena is a gem, found as a stray, more than likely because she has a growth on her shoulder which needs medical attention. It might be something, it might be nothing, but it needs to be evaluated. Athenas face is gray with wisdom and years lived. Shes likely had some litters, and she has age callouses on her pressure points perhaps from not having a soft place in which to sleep. In spite of all this, or maybe because of it, Athenas gentle soul and easy manner made me fall in love with her. She enjoys going for a walk, has a nice spry step and goes potty as soon as were out the door. Her leash manners are terrific, she seems to like other dogs, even the smalls, wagging her little nub of a tail at all we meet. I love her paws... bear paws that pad around our pen as she follows me. Placing her head in my lap, she loves being petted, and nuzzles my hand when I stop. More petting please! Athenas eyes are soft, soulful and wise. Shes looking for a home in which her needs will be met, she can love and take care of her person, and spend her golden years as a pampered pet. Shes going to be easy to love, there is no doubt in my mind…”.
