010115TSORA ON EDUCATION BY JENNIFER NKUI Chairman of the Bougainville education board Tony Tsora, has revealed that the new time zone has given the office of the Bougainville secretary the opportunity to authorize instructional hours for schools in the region. He explained to New Dawn Fm in an interview that with the old education system, the national education secretary is the only person who can authorize instructional hours for schools. He then pointed out that with the new time zone; the Bougainville education secretary now has the opportunity to authorize instructional hours for schools in the region. He added that in the beginning of this year, the education secretary will do the secretary instructions for all educational institutions which will accompany the ministerial policy statement that the minister will be sending to all schools. Mr. Tsora said he has not seen this in the last couple of years but thinks that it should start this year. Ends
