1 Corinthians 15:16-20 For if the dead are not raised, then not - TopicsExpress

1 Corinthians 15:16-20 For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins. Furthermore, those who have fallen asleep in Christ have also perished. For if only in this life we have hope in Christ, we should be pitied more than anyone. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. At the moment Jesus gave up His spirit, the Bible says “The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.” If there was any doubt about whether resurrection was in God’s arsenal, consider it resolved. Christ’s resurrection is vital and necessary to our reconciliation with God. Christ was the first, but a host of others also come out of the grave, and more still have yet to be called out of the grave (Revelation 20). Acts 2:32, Romans 4:25, Romans 6:4, Romans 8:11, and Romans 8:34 all speak truths that impart life to us because of Christ’s resurrection. He is life, and He is alive and well serving as our High Priest forever! Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
