10/07/2014 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 A first year teacher is also known as a BT (beginning teacher). In the beginning of every teacher’s first year of teaching, a mentor is assigned to help make sure the teacher’s transition into the classroom is successful. The mentor requires certain things of the beginning teacher to make sure the teacher is organized, comfortable making lesson plans, and is properly equipped and successful with classroom management. The mentor doesn’t necessarily make the tests or design the courses that the teacher must successfully pass, but the mentor does make sure the teacher is prepared to pass the test. We have to understand, as a mentee, that it is not the mentor’s responsibility to create tests or courses you need to take in life, and they cannot take the courses or tests for us. They are only supposed to provide training and encouragement needed to make the moves necessary to pass the course or test.
